Bio

Hello, I’m Elizabeth! I was born and raised in St. Louis where I currently reside with my two beautiful children. Like many young parents who experience unplanned pregnancy, my life changed suddenly and dramatically as I was lovingly flung into the world of parenthood. Through my journey, I fell in love with the process of willing new life into the world.

The difference between my own birth experiences were comparable to night and day thanks to the support of a birth doula. With my first birth, an unplanned cesarean left me with a difficult recovery both physically and emotionally. Because of this, I took Sarah Baker’s Birthworks class and hired Purple Lotus Doula’s very own Melany Willis when I became pregnant with my second child. Comprehensive childbirth education paired with the calming and familiar presence of a doula made a profoundly positive impact when I made the decision to have an elective cesarean.

A culmination of my life experiences, desire to serve my community, and passion for all things pregnancy landed me directly onto the path of becoming a birth professional. I firmly believe that all parents have the right to truly educated decisions and a fulfilling birth experience; that there is a deep importance to a parent’s intuition. During childbirth, I help families tap into their own strength by providing information, physical comfort measures, being a familiar constant through the entire process, and holding a safe space.

Throughout my career I have taken several childbirth classes, including in hospitals, birth centers, and Sarah Baker’s private Birthworks Class. As well as childbirth classes, I have also received doula training in 2019 through the Purple Lotus Doula’s Professional Birth Doula training, DONA International Birth Doula training, and Stillbirthday.

During my first year working as a solo doula, I was mentored by the Purple Lotus Doulas. Now as an official member of the Purple Lotus Doulas’ professional team, I will continue to receive their mentorship and collective knowledge.

In addition to my doula work, I am also a proud ambassador for the St. Louis Area Diaper Bank and St. Louis Alliance for Period Supplies.

I’d love to be a part of your birth team. If you’re ready to take the next steps and see if we are a good match, I can be reached through our contact form. I look forward to hearing from you!

Testimonials

Maddie M: Best decision I’ve ever made! She helped advocate for me when I was at my most vulnerable, she helped me feel in control when most hospitals want you to think they’re in control. I even yelled at her a lot and she just smiled and took it (love you, Liz!). If I find out I’m pregnant again, she will be my first call.
